North Herts Pickleball is a well-regarded entity within the Hertfordshire pickleball scene and beyond with a membership of more than 90 players. Our members regularly visit other clubs, we play inter-club matches and several of our members regularly enter local and national tournaments.
The Club welcomes new adult members of all abilities including those new to the game. It is also pleased to receive visits from players from other clubs.
All our sessions are open to all our members. Potential new players are typically invited to attend a two hour introduction to the game so that they are confident of the rules, how to score, how to hit the key shots and how to support their partner on court.
After the introduction, players can be confident to play the game and are offered support and encouragement on court by existing members.
Play equipment is provided including paddles for those new to the game.
The club came into being after Ruth Tomlinson learned to play while holidaying in Florida and so North Herts Pickleball was formed following a successful open day held at North Herts Leisure Centre in November 2017.
From that first open day, membership grew and continues to grow. We now play regularly indoors at North Herts College, Hitchin Boys School and outdoors at Norton Common, Letchworth
